Funeral services for a lifelong resident of Sandersville, George M. Gatlin Sr., 62, were held Monday morning, 11 o'clock, from Sandersville Baptist Church. The Rev. E. A. Hester and the Rev. W. W. Bagby officiated and burial was in Sandersville cemetery. Mr. Gatlin was a former cattleman and a retired lumberman. He leaves his widow, four sons, George M. Gatlin Jr. and Delmer L. Gatlin, both of Citronelle, Ala.; Louis Samuel Gatlin, New Orleans, and Joseph Edward Gatlin,
Miami, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Dossie Evelyn Wheeler, Sandersville; three sisters, Mrs. Ida McCIendon, Jackson; Mrs. Naomi Gunn, Hattiesburg, and Mrs. Ruby
Mae Collins, Purvis, and 15 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Austin Shedd, Terry Gooch, W. S. Caraway, Hairy Suddith, Alton Daniels, Harvey Hinton, Bob Hickson and Ray Morgan. Memory Chapel was in charge.
