Mrs. Juanita K. Davis, age 81 of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near her home. She was born in Pine Hill, in Rockcastle County on Nov. 24, 1927, the daughter of William Tony and Mary Hansel Kirby. She was a homemaker and a long standing member of the First Christian Church on Mt. Vernon. She was active in the Republican Party as well as local community projects.

She is survived by three sons, James Albert Davis of Richmond; Charles Tony Davis (Teddy) of Mt. Vernon, and Leonard Wheeler Davis (Kim) of London; and one brother, Bobby Kirby (Elsie) of Florence. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many special friends, cousins, neices and nephews. She was proceded in death by her husband, James L. Davis; and a son, Karl E. Davis.
