Marjorie "Margie" Irlean Rudder, Strawderman (Age 87), lost her battle with Alzheimer's disease on August 12, 2009 while surrounded in the love and warmth of her family. She was living in Burgaw NC and was cared for by her loving daughter Ruth and her husband Sam Richardson, along with granddaughters Angela and Janielle. She gently passed while granddaughter Melinda softly sang "Don't Leave Nobody but the Baby" by her bedside. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jacob, daughter Patricia and son Jackie. She is survived by her loving sons, Robert Eugene Strawderman of SC, Roger Allen Strawderman & wife Rosie of Maryland and William Grant Strawderman of NC and daughters Ruth Elieen & husband Sam Richardson of Burgaw, NC , Nancy Jean Campbell of Bealeton, VA , Alice Virginia Young of Maryland and Evelyn Louise Runion of Burgaw NC , 31 grand children, 50 great grand children and 11 great-great grandchildren. She loved her Bluegrass and Country music. She performed at many local area venues over the years. It was rare to see her at family gatherings without her guitar and belting out "The Haunted House" for everyone to enjoy. Like any good entertainer, she made everyone she came in contact with; feel welcome and comfortable in her presence. Her table was always as full as her heart and she will be dearly missed. Pastor Charlie Comer will conduct a funeral service 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Flat Rock church of the Brethren near Forrestville. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 PM. Sunday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. To our dearest Mother and loving friend, sleep softly in the arms of our Lord, God, until we meet again.
