Funeral services for Mr. Alton Bethany were held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, April 28, 2006, at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville. Rev. Keith Lendy and Rev. Larry Mizell officiated. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemtery.

A native of Kemper County, Mr. Bethany was a retired lumber inspector for Kooper's Hardwood Company. He was also a Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a member of Wess Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Bethany died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at his home in Louisville.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Smith Bethany of Louisville; daughter, Evelynn Ann Brumfield of Bogalusa, LA; son, Billy Bethany of Louisville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Springhill Cemetery Fund in Dekalb, MS.
