Flight Leader Edward F. Rector, 25, from a mountain farm outside Marshall, N.C., likes to grow tobacco and corn, went to Catawba College, learned to fly with the U.S. Navy. A quiet, hardworking country boy, he is well-liked by everybody. Life Magazine on March 30, 1942.
