Ora John Deringer, 64, Ada barber, died at 11:15 a.m. Friday in Memorial hospital following a two-week illness of jaundice.

Born in Hardin-co Dec. 18, 1881, Deringer had lived in Ada virtually all his life where he had been co-owner of a barber shop for 43 years.

Surviving are his widow, Ada Belle, and a daughter, Jean, at home; five sons, Audren of DeGraff, and George, John, Russell and Glenn, all at home; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Stober and Mrs. Etta Guthrie, both of Lafayette, and Mrs. Emma Stober of Ada; a brother, Alvin of Ada; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist church, Ada, with Rev. Hal Reed officiating. Burial will be in McElroy cemetery, northeast of Ada. The body will be removed from the Preston funeral home to the residence Saturday evening, and will remain at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday.
