Mr. Huffman was widely known throughout the county, having served as a clerk of this county court for 28 years, and previous to that as circuit court clerk for four years. He retired six years ago when his health failed. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, one of the few left in this area.
Mr. Huffman was born January 6, 1878 at Cottonwood Point, the son of Jesse ad Amanda Martin Huffman, and lived all of his life in this county.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at ten o'clock at the Church of the Sacred Heart, the Rev. Jos. H. Huels and the Rev. Ellinger conductd the requiem mass. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery with LaForge Undertaking Company in charge.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bess Ferguson Huffman; two daughters, Mrs. J.O. Garrett and Mrs. Pierce Neeley; and four grandchildren, all of Caruthersville.
