Mrs. Florence E. Hyde, 89, a prominent Lincoln church woman, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T.A. Kiesslebach, at 9 p.m. Sunday. she had been ill for some time and was confined to her bed for the past year. Mrs. Hyde's main interests outside her home and family were those of the Unitarian church, with those activities she was closely identified. During the World war, she was manager of the Soldiers Canteen of the Red Circle Club of Norfolk, Va. She was; prominent in various clubs in Lincoln, Aurora, and Ulysses. Mrs. Hyde was born Oct. 19, 1860, in Shabbona Grove, near Cornwall, Ill. Her girlhood was spent in that community where she attended and later taught school. She married Frederick A Hyde, superintendent of schools in Cambridge, Ill, in May 1883. Since that time, she has lived in various Nebraska towns and, since 1902, in Lincoln. Mrs. Hyde outlived her husband for 14 years. She is survived by her son Dr. JF Hyde of Omaha, two daughters, Mrs. T.A. Kiesselbach and Mrs. Charles Roberts, both of Lincoln; a sister, J.E. Ferris of Lincoln; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
