At birth George's last name was spelled McDougall, but after the 1920 census the family used the spelling MacDougall. Husband of Emily J. Carpenter, he lived 64 years. According to the amsterdam Recorder 12/26/1939, he was actually born in Saratoga county and was a spinner by trade. Surviving were 3 sons, Herbert, Harrower and Joseph and Edwin; three daughters, Mrs Mildred Crandall, Fort Hunter; Ms Mary MacDougall, this city; five sisters, Mrs William Jones, Fort Johnson, Mrs Arthur Turner, Scotia, Mrs Eugene VanDar Hyden, Amsterdam, Mrs Earl Barden, Schenectady, as well as 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. It appears there were 4 sons and 2 daughters so the paper may have been in error.

The funeral of George MacDougall
was held yesterday afternoon
at 2:30 o'clock at the funeral home
of Merrlam A Waterstreet, the Rev.
Dr. Louts H. Losch officiating.
There were mnay floral expressions
of sympathy, including pieces from
the Junior Phllathea Class of the
First Baptist Church, Chalmers finishing
room and the Nainsook Department
of Chalmers Knitting
Mill. The bearers were Charles
Ackerman, Leslie Ackerman, Warren"
Bellows, Leonard Champlln.
Leo Spagnola and Leo Lubln. Interment
was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
