Age 64, daughter of the late Harry and Theresa Petroff Evanoff. Mrs. Chatman, who lived in Erie all her life, was a homemaker. She had done volunteer work at the City Mission - New Life Center and her church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall "Shorty" Chatman, in 1991; and an infant brother, Albert Evanoff.
She is survived by four daughters, Vicki Simpson Bonhomme of Phoenix, Ariz., Darlene Simpson Clayton of Houston, Texas, Trina Simpson Ibrahim of Durham, N.C., and Julie Barnett of Erie; two sons, Robert Simpson Jr. of Phoenix and Gary M. Simpson of Erie; five sisters, Fima E. Weed and Anita K. DeFonzo, both of Erie, Marilyn A. Voronovas of Brantford, Canada, Kay M. Pazdziesz of El Cajon, Calif., and Matrina Barry of Miami, Fla.; two brothers, Harry and Jack Evanoff, both of Erie; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
