William Lenoir Parr was the son of John Currien Parr and Margaret Bolton/Parr. William was named after his uncle, William Lenoir Parr, and he was a gradson of Revolutionary war veteran from New Jersey, Benjamin Parr, Sr., and wife Martha McKinney Parr, who married in Wilkes County, North Carolina. They settled in Clarke County, Georgia after the Revolutionary War. William married Sarah Williams and was the father of sons, William Henry, Lenoir and Jasper; and daughters, Mary, Sarah Jane, Amanda Catherine and Sleaton.
