In failing health for several months, Mrs. Henning had been a patient at the hospital but had returned to her home as her condition seemed much improved. She was stricken on Friday and reentered the hospital where her condition had been critical.
A daughter of the late Daniel and Lydia Virginia Wampler Wetsel, she was born Sept. 10, 1903, near Port Republic where she spent the first nine years of her life. Prior to moving to the Alexandria and Washington areas 15 years ago, Mrs. Henning had been a resident of Harrisonburg.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Henning, a well-known interior decorator, of Alexandria, six sisters, Mrs. Grace Miller, Palmyra, Pa.; Mrs. Anna Lineweaver, Fredericksburg, Pa.; Mrs. Lilly Fulk, Fulks Run; Mrs. Ruth Sencindiver; Mrs. Rosalie Lokey and Mrs. Alma Glover, all of Harrisonburg; four brothers, A. W., E. H., and D. M. Wetsel, Jr., all of Harrisonburg and Beidler J. Wetsel, Alexandria. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Her mother preceded her in death on January 11, 1948 and a brother, Wampler H. Wetsel, died October 4, 1934.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at three-thirty o'clock from the chapel of the Lindsey Funeral Home on South Main Street, with Dr. Earl M. Bowman in charge of the services. Burial will be in the family lot in the Mill Creek Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Leo Huffman, Joseph G. Wampler, Wilbert E. Thompson, Loyd Kreckley, Charles S. Ritchie and Weldon Wampler.
The body will rest at the Lindsey Funeral Home where relatives, friends and pallbearers are asked to meet Tuesday afternoon at three-twenty o'clock.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
