Ed Biggs, life-long resident of Taney County and the Forsyth community, succumbed to a lingering illness of about three years duration, at his home north of Forsyth, Wednesday morning, at 11:30.
Mr. Biggs had been a farmer in this community until about seven years ago, during the war, he and his family went west each spring and worked in the fruit and vegetable fields out there, coming back each fall to spend the winter.
About three years ago, he and his sons went west, but shortly after he got to Idaho, he began having trouble with his throat and his voice became weak and raspy. He went to the doctors out there with little encouragement and finally came back home. As his condition seemed to be getting worse, he gained admittance to the Ellis-Fischer Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, and has been a patient there since that time.
Thomas Edwards Biggs was born March 25, 1898, In Dent county, Missouri, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Biggs, who proceeded him in death, and died at his home northeast of Forsyth, Mo., February 16, 1949, at the age of 50 years, 11 months and 5 days.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was united in marriage in 1925 to Miss Goldie Braden, of Christian county, and to this union were born seven children, Mrs. Gladys Wolf, of Galena, Kansas Jim, Dewey, Ida Belle, Harold, Harry, and Emmett, all of the home.
One brother, John Biggs, of Mansfield, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Bill Barr, of Bunker, Missouri, Mrs. W. A. Bunch of Tula Lake, California and Mrs. Joe Yates, of Hollister, and a host of relatives and friends. Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the new Baptist Church in Taneyville by Rev. U. G. Johnson and burial will be made in the Forsyth Cemetery under the direction of the Forsyth Funeral Home.
