From Jeff Rinker's "Arnold" Genealogy...provided to me by Rodney Arnold

In 1910, Harry was a farm laborer, living with his parents in Lix. He married in 1911 and established his own farm. Around 1916, Harry and family briefly moved to a farm on Wappasenung Creek. After they had been there a short time, they learned that Cora's father, George Brenchley, was in financial difficulties and in danger of losing his farm. Harry sold the farm on the Wappasenung and used the proceeds to pay his father-in-law's debts, moving his family to the Brenchley farm. The two families discovered it was difficult to maintain harmony between the two households operating a single farm, with the result that Harry moved his family to Litchfield around 1920 and worked for a while as a tenant farmer before finally purchasing a farm in Bumpville, adjacent to the property of his father, C.O. Arnold.

In addition to farming, Harry worked at the saw mill in Bumpville. He worked both in the wood-fired boiler room that operated the mill and on the sawing deck. This frequent change between hot and cold work environment caused him serious health problems. Harry died of pneumonia at age 46.
