SNYDER, ANNABELLE (ANN) J.

Winn MI

Age 74, returned to our Lord Sunday, August 27, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant. Annabelle Jane Snyder was born in Lansing Township, Michigan June 17, 1926. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 31, at 1 p.m. from the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church with the Rev Richard Fulkerson officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery near Winn. There will be an Eastern Stars service Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. at the Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Berry Funeral Home.
Ann Snyder was born June 17, 1926 in Lansing Township to Clinton and Cleo (Gibson) Annis. She graduated from Sexton High School in 1945 and received her B.S. in Science from Anderson University in Anderson IN in 1949. While at Anderson University she was among 9 women in the Nation to win scholastic honors. She earned a M.A. from Central Michigan University funded by a Science Institute Fellowship while teaching full time and raising her family. She taught Science and English at Shepherd High School from 1957 to 1984. In retirement, Ann pursued volunteer work for the Meals on Wheels Program and at the Masonic Home. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Coe Chapter of Shepherd and was awarded the Rose Medallion Award in 1993. She was a member of the Winn United Methodist Church and also attended the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church for the last few years. She is survived by her Loving husband of 51 years Max Snyder; 2 sons Robert (Terie) Snyder of Lansing and Donald (Nancy) Snyder of Alma; three granddaughters, Jessica, Tiffany and Cristina; 3 step-grandchildren, Tabitha and Violet and 1 step-grandson; 1 sister-in-law Fran Annis of Barryton. She was preceded in death by her Brother Byron and his wife Pat of Grand Rapids and her Brother Dell Annis of Barryton. Memorials may be given to the Isabella County Commission on Aging or the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church.
