Mr. Offenbacker was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Stanley, Va., and was the son of the late Mark Carlton Offenbacker and Ollie Mae (Meadows) Offenbacker.

He worked for Safeway for 34 years as a clerk and was a Marine veteran of the Korean War.

On Nov. 9, 1954, he married Virginia Maxine Cubbage, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Ann Comer of Stanley and Carla Denise Alexander of Mount Airy, Md.; a grandson, Jason Michael Comer of Luray and a granddaughter, Katelynn Michelle Comer of Stanley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Andavaugh "Ann" Marie Meadows, and a grandson, Joshua Dallas Comer.

Pastor Buddy L. Caviness will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray. Burial will be at Thomas Cemetery Tanners Ridge, Stanley, Va. with military honors by the VFW Comer Jones Post 621.
