Mrs. Rodgers worked at Raney Drug Store, Hercules Powder Co. and then the Lawrence Memorial Hospital until she retired.
She was born April 19, 1915, in Lawrence, the daughter of Murray Roy and Grace Muzzy Hodge. She attended Lawrence schools and was a lifelong Lawrence resident.
Mrs. Rodgers was a member of Adah Chapter No. 7 of the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Rebekah Lodge No. 754 and the American Association of Retired Persons.
She married Francis E. Bereiter on June 17, 1933. They were divorced. She married Alvin Rodgers on Aug. 14, 1970, in Lawrence. He preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1979.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra K. Gurley, Lawrence; a son, Ronald L. Bereiter, Lawrence; a brother, Raymond Hodge, Seattle; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Rodgers will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses or to Hospice Care in Douglas County and sent in care of the funeral home.
