Note: Aunt Bertha was married to Rex M Clark when she passed.

Aunt Bertha grew up in Jewell County, Kansas. She was never in Allen County. Bertha parents were married in 1872 at Charabusco, Whitley, Indiana. Some time between 1872 and 1880 they moved to Athens, Jewell, Kansas. And her parents are found in Athens clear through to the 1900 census still found living in Athens, Kansas.

The family all lived in the Athens Township, which is in Jewell County, Kansas, USA. At the time Bertha was born Athens would not been much of a town. Anything major they had to do would have had to be done in Iona which is a short distance from Athens.

Aunt Bertha won the watch because she won the horse race through the Gunnison Tunnel
