William Thurman, 88, died Sunday at his home, 1006 Shoshone street. He was born in Soda Springs, Idaho, Nov. 1, 1867. McBratney-Alden chapel will announce services.

Services for William L. Thurman, 88, of 1006 Shoshone street, who died Sunday, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the McBratney-Alden chapel with the Rev. Hartzell Cobbs officiating. Interment will be at Meridian.

Mr. Thurman was born in Soda Springs, Idaho, Nov. 1, 1867, and moved to Meridian with his parents when a small child. In 1889 he homesteaded a farm southeast of Meridian and farmed until he retired because of ill health. His parents operated a flour mill near Eagle Island years ago.

A farmer, Mr. Thurman was a charter member of the Modern Woodmen organization being a member more than 50 years.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Harvey Beaver, Boise, and four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
