Frieda Kaufman married Paul Brog April 12, 1932 in Weber, Utah.

Frieda Brog, 78, of Nampa, ID died Tuesday, Sept 22, 1992at a Nampa care center.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Sept 26, 1992 at the Nampa 6th Ward. Interment followed in the Meridian Cemetery.

She was born Feb 5, 1914 at alta, WY in the Teton Valley to Rudolph and Rosina Durischi Kaufman. The Kaufmans had immigrated to the United States from Switzerland in 1906.
The Kaufman family all worked on the Kaufman Ranch and Frieda learned to help her family members with the farm work at an early age. She loved the ranch and the out-of-doors and especially liked horses and became adept in their care and handling.

She also learned how to make cheese from their dairy products. The Kaufmans produced some of the first Swiss cheese manufactured commercially west of the Mississippi.
In 1930, while working in Star valley, Frieda met and married Paul Brog, a master cheese-maker and a native of Switzerland. To this union, in 1932, was born a son, Paul A. Brog who co-founded and presently is the co-owner and general manager of Swiss Village Cheese Company in Nampa. Frieda and Paul lived in Star Valley and later in Paris, ID, where Paul managed a large cheese operation. Later, the moved to Blackfoot where they owned and operated the Blackfoot Creamery. In Lemhi County, they also started the Rocky Mountain Creamery, which later became the Salmon Valley Cheese Company in Salmon, ID. The also lived in Idaho Falls for a time.

Frieda had been afflicted with arthritis from the age of 18. Later in life, this affliction became serious enough that it left her severely handicapped. During 60 years of infirmity by her cheerfulness and patience in suffering, Frieda endeared herself to her family, with whom a beautiful kinship continues to this day.

After her beloved husband, Paul died in 1976, [Frieda continued to live independently in her comfortable apartment in Nampa. Frieda became a resident of the Wesley Manor in Meridian in 1988. After a brief hospital stay in September 1991, she moved to a Nampa care center where she resided at the time of her death. Frieda was a member of the LDS Church.

She is survived by her son Paul A. Nampa, a brother Alfred Kaufman Alta, WY, six sisters; Martha Brog and Lena Robinson of Freedom, Ida. Bybee of Boise, Beth Webb of St. George, UT, Isabel Stone of Driggs, ID, Ella Beard of Tetonia, ID, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Frieda was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers and two sisters.

The family suggests contributions to the Idaho Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 534, Rupert, ID 83550.
