J. Earl Buck, age 56, passed away at his home in Vaiden on Sunday, September 19. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at four o'clock at the South Union Church near Ackerman, with the Rev. A. Y. Brown of Ackerman, saying the last rites. Interment followed in the South Union cemetery, with Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Buck was born in Choctaw County and was a member of the Methodist church.

The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lula Buck, of Winona; four sons, Preston Buck, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Melton Buck, Dewitt Buck and Dan Buck, all of Little Rock, Arkansas; three sisters, Mrs. Annie White, of Ackerman; Mrs. Fannie Roach, of Ackerman, and Mrs. Kate Noel, of North Carolina, and four brothers. Perry E. and Angus T. Buck, of Anniston, Alabama; J. E. Buck, of Austin, Texas, and S. B. Buck, of Weir, Mississippi.
