Betty Sue Jenkins Schmidt, 67
Betty Sue Jenkins Schmidt, age 67, of San Angelo, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo. Funeral services were 1:00 p. m. Monday, May 3, 2004 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman with Rev. Barbara Dyke officiating. Burial followed in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Betty Sue Jenkins on April 15, 1937 in Crews, Runnels County, Texas and was a daughter of the late Lister and Ruby Gray Jenkins. She grew up in Novice and graduated from Novice High School in 1956. On December 28, 1958 she married Felix Schmidt in Coleman. Betty lived in Coleman prior to moving to San Angelo in 1972 and had lived there since that time. While living in Coleman she worked at Gray Mercantile, Coulsen's Drug Store and Owl Drug Store. In San Angelo she worked for Fashion Shop, M. L. Leddy Boot and National Motor Club. She was a member of Day Memorial Methodist Church in San Angelo. When her sons were young she served as a Den Mother and she loved sewing, camping and shopping.

Survivors include her husband, Felix Schmidt of San Angelo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Melissa Schmidt and Tony and Ruthie Schmidt all of San Angelo; eight grandchildren, Ashley Schmidt, Amber Schmidt, Arika Schmidt, Stacey and husband Jeremy Block, Rebecca Johnson, Teresa and husband T. J. Emeott, Whitney Schmidt and Nicholas Roof; one great-grandchild, Katie Johnson; one brother, Franklin Jenkins of Big Spring, Texas; three sisters, Burnell Nichols, Reba Grosshans and Ruby Jean Smith all of San Angelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Felix and Gertrude Schmidt; three brothers, Quincy, Wesley and Melvin Jenkins and one sister, Mollie Gray. Memorials may be made to Day Memorial United Methodist Church, 1202 Preusser, San Angelo, Texas 76903.
