LaVeta was born October 7, 1918, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. In 1937 she graduated from Capitol Hill High School where she was president of the Honor Society, chosen to represent patriotism and good citizenship. She was also a leader in the Pan American Forum. LaVeta played the clarinet in the band and cello in the orchestra. She was especially proud of her membership in Daughters of the American Revolution. LaVeta attended Oklahoma A&M University majoring in Business Administration. She married her high school sweetheart, Dillard Estes Talbutt on September 10, 1938. His work took them to many locations across the USA and Brazil, South America and her beautiful soprano voice sang out in many-a-choir in their lifelong journey.
LaVeta was predeceased by her mother Rose Ella Campbell, father James Douglas Campbell, son Vernon Douglas Talbutt and sister Evelyn Juanita Pacey.
She will be lovingly missed by all her remaining family and friends, including her daughter Marcianna "Marci" Scarborough and husband Max, grandson John Butler and wife Susan, granddaughter Cheri Johnson and husband Kendall, granddaughter Joy Arnold and husband Bob, sister-in-law Margaret Ferguson, niece LaNita Crosby and husband Don, nephew Steve Pacey and wife Christine, seven great grandchildren, Ryan, Jonathon, Terrin, Chloe, Taylor, Karli, and Joshua, and 2 great-great grandchildren, Delainy and Scarlett.
