DILLARD E. TALBUTT
Dillard E. Talbutt, 63, of 1900 S. Manhattan, died Sunday in Phoenix, Ariz.
Services are pending with N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors.
Mr. Talbutt, born in Barnsdall, Okla. moved to Amarillo in 1956 from Ardmore.
He was a Church of Christ member, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a pipeline welder.
Survivors include his wife, LaVeta, a daughter, Mrs. Marcianna Butler Ryan of Amarillo, his mother Mrs. Effie Lamons of Austin; a sister Mrs. Margaret Ferguson of Houston, and two grandchildren.
Dillard Talbutt was 3rd in the 128 Class from Okla. State at the 14th NCAA Wrestling Tournament held 3/21/1941 to 3/22/1941 at LeHigh.
He also came in 3rd in the 136 Class from Okla. State at the 15th NCAA Wrestling Tournament held 3/27/1942 to 3/28/1942 at Michigan State.
He is in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum located at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK.
