Mabel was born to William and Mable Wilson in Ontario, Canada.
Alfred Judson "Jud" Dennis and Mabel were married on November 19, 1879, in a small church in Avon, Ontario, Canada. Judson and Mabel were pioneers of Moore township arriving in 1881 shortly after the second disastrous fire swept the Thumb district. Settling on burnt overland, the family managed true to pioneer form and lived in plenty.
After several years Mr. and Mrs. Dennis moved to Gagetown where they resided two years. Returning to a farm one and one half miles east of Snover, the couple remained until 1921 when Jud retired and came to Snover (town) to live.
Yvonne Smith was a young girl when she would visit Jud and Mabel. She tells us that Mabel would try to shoo Jud away so that the two could talk. Jud would laugh and say that he had more fun listening to them chatter. Yvonne was very fond of her visits with the elderly couple.
