Former Teacher in City Schools for About 30 Years
Mrs. Fannie (Watson) Wooddy, 84, teacher in the Fayetteville public schools for about 30 years, died at 12:15 p.m., July 17, 1949, in the City Hospital. Born in Fayetteville, September 28, 1865, she was the daughter of William A. and Sarah (Howell) Watson. She was the widow of the late Lemuel Dale Wooddy. Educated at the University, she was a charter member of Marion Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Oscar V. D. Luft of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two sons, Watson Wooddy of Corvallis, Oregon, and Dale Wooddy of Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Frank Sittel of McAlester, Oklahoma and a brother, Frank Watson of Tulsa; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two nieces, Mrs. Leland Bryan and Mrs. Samuel Hucke, both of Fayetteville; two nephews, Edmond P. Watson and Samuel Hucke, and one great- great nephew, Samuel Hucke III of Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m., at the Watson Mortuary by the Rev. William Sherman, assisted by the Rev. D. L. Dykes. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Wooddy, 84, who died Monday at the City Hospital, were held yesterday at 10 a.m. at the Watson Mortuary by the Rev. William Sherman, and the Rev. D. L. Dykes, Methodist ministers.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Reed, Dr. C. G. Melton, H. H. Taylor, Lowell Chaney, William C. Morton, Robert Logan, Charles Stewart and Ray Adams.
