Chris Meadows seen Ball and Jack run when lightning hit pole next to them. Nothing left of the drey wagon after they was caught. They may have been called Jack and Fred. There was another source for the horses. But they said the same thing. Every chance they got the would run away, and driver would be walking. Ny mother said they were Ball and Jack. There are many more stories about that pair running off a lot. Mom said they were famous in Branson for leaving the driver and running off.
A man named Harry Waltz drove for the Meads Drey Service.
They raised a child that one of the daughters (Cora) had named Earl Brown, He had a hat shop in Armarillo Texas, about all that is known about him.

H P Mead and Malisa A. Mead (spelled Malisa on the paper) June 3, 1919 Lot 4 in Block 2 of Lucia, Missouri from Dave Parnell. J E Trout and Geo. F. Sprulock the parties of the 3rd part was to be paid by them in two payments. One note for $300 due and payable in 6 months and the other note for $350 due and payable in 1 year and the above notes to draw interest at the rate of 8% per annum. He signed H P Mead and she made a mark witnessed by J C. McManning a Notary. The foregoing deed of trust was filed for Record this 7th day of June A D 1919 at 4 o'clock PM.

A phone call to the Branson City and they could not find any Mead listed at all in this cemetery. They said the records burned. Some have went to the cemetery and have wrote down the names of the people that had stones. They probably do not have a stone now. I was in the cemetery in the 1970's and do not recall the exact location for them at this time. Maybe when I visit again it will come to mind.

I know I was in a cemetery, now the question comes could it have been the other old cemetery Ozarks Memorial Park, could they have been put there instead of this old city cemetery. I think a local or two may have called it the old city cemetery.
