Man Extradited to Colorado to Face Charge of Murder
SPRINGFIELD, ID UPI ---Gov. William G. Stratton issued a warrant Thursday for the return of Donald Shelton,..., of Chicago, to Colorado Springs, Colo, on a murder charge.
Shelton is free on $5,000 bond from Cook County Jail. He was arrested May 15.
He is charged with murdering Nathanial Abrams outside a barracks at Colorado Springs Jan 2, 1956.
Shelton, a Negro, had testified in an extradition hearing he was arrested because of mistaken identity. He said he had not been out of Chicago since 1952 and was never in Colorado Springs.
