Mary Huldah Toney-Hargis-Dixon. According to the 1900 Census, Huldah was the mother of seven children, five were living at the time. She barely knew her father, James Toney who was a Wagon Master in the Civil War for the Confederate States Army. He was captured November 1863 near Look Out Mt., TN., and died at the age of 33 in the Rock Island Prison, IL., in January of 1864 of small pox. Her mother never remarried, but raised Huldah and her three older siblings in Knob Creek, Izard Co., AR. Her mother Luvina Toney lived with them until her own death. Rest in Heaven, great gramma, til we meet someday.
Hush little baby, don't you cry. You know your daddy's bound to die. All my trials Lord, soon be over..
