FROM PARALYTIC STROKE
Mrs. Alice Wix, aged 82 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Johnnie Howell, near Westmoreland, on Thursday of last week, about a week after she suffered a stroke of paralysis. She was the widow of the late Robert Wix, who died 27 years ago. She leaves seven children, the other six being Haywood and Jesse Wix, both of Evansville; Mrs. Tom Woodward, of South Tunnel; Mrs. Willie Akin, Mrs. Charlie Lambert, and Clyde Wix all of Westmoreland; 37 grand children, 78 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, a total of 124 descendants. She was the last surviving member of the family of her parents.
Funeral services were on Saturday by Elder F. W. Lambert, after which the remains were laid to rest in the family graveyard near Westmoreland. She was a good woman and had long been a member of New Zion General Baptist church.
