"CAPTAIN SHERRY TAKEN BY DEATH"

"Capt. Joseph Sherry, well-known resident of Biloxi for many years, died in a sanitarium at Mobile yesterday afternoon at 1:12 o'clock after an illness of several weeks. The deceased was a native of Mobile, but had spent most of his life in Biloxi. He became ill in Newberg, N.Y., and was taken to Mobile by his brother, where he lingered some time before dying. He was a member of the Catholic church. Capt. Sherry is survived by five daughters, two stepsons and three brothers, the latter being residents of Mobile. They are John T., James P. and Arthur P. Sherry. He was a member of the Marine Engineers Benevolent association of Mobile. His daughters are Misses Marry Reeva, Florence, Eula and Lillian Sherry, all of this city, and Mrs. Joe Matitina, also of Biloxi. His stepsons are Joe Delmaure, of this city, and Emile Delmaure, of New Orleans. The funeral will be held in this city from the Sherry home on Lameuse street, under the auspices of the Church of the Nativity, some time tomorrow. The body will be brought to Biloxi today on train No. 5. Capt. Sherry was 46 years old. His wife preceded him in death three years ago."
