Roger B. Sherry, 62, of Little Egg Harbor, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009 at home. He was born in Bayonne, graduated from Bayonne High School then attended NJIT in Newark, N.J. prior to enlisting in the U.S. Air Force serving during the Viet Nam war. He moved to this area in 1973. He was a member of the N.J. Air National guard, 177th Fighter Wing. He was a member of St. Theresa's Church, Little Egg Harbor where he served as an Usher and Lecture. He was a member of the Redman Lodge # 61 Tuckerton, VFW, American Legion and was very active in scouting.
Roger was predeceased by his brother, John. Survived by wife, Linda; sons, Kirk, West Creek, Brian, Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas Nv; Sisters, Kathy Domelewski, Forked River, Karen Leoncavallo, Wall Township, 12 nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Monday, August 17 from 7-9 P.M. at Wood Funeral Home, 134 East Main Street, Tuckerton, N.J. A Mass of Christian burial will be said on Tuesday, August 18 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Theresa's Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, N.J. Cremation will be private. Donations may be made in his memory to Penn Brain Tumor Program c/o Kevin Judy, M.D. HUP, Department of Neurosurgery, 3 Silverstein, 3400 Spruce Street, Phila. Pa. 19104. Checks should be made payable to: Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Brain Tumor Program.
