A Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Pius X Chapel, Forked River, after the funeral from the Growney Funeral Home, 1022 Lacey Rd., Forked River.
Mr. Sherry was a self-employed businessman in the Hudson County and Ocean County areas for many years before retiring.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Born in Ansonia, Conn., he lived in Bayonne for 65 years before moving to Forked River 16 years ago.
Surviving are his wife,Regina; a son, Roger; daughters, Karen Leoncavallo and Kathleen Domalewski; sisters, Ann Greer and Helen Petrone; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son Jack preceded him in death in 1989.
