Hilda N. Burr, 89, Lone Tree, died Wednesday at Crestview Nursing Home in West Branch, following a short illness.
Funeral services were held Friday at the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree, with the Rev. Albert Best officiating. Burial was in Lone Tree Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Sorden's Funeral Home. A general memorial has been established.
Mrs. Burr was born Jan. 2, 1898, a daughter of Gustav and Christine Benson Nelson. She married Vernon E. Burr Sept. 18, 1919 in Johnson County, IA. A housewife, she was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ruth (Mrs. Keith) Forbes of Iowa City, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, two sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers were Paul Forbes, Kevin Forbes, Gary Schmitt, John Burr, Donald Sexton and Robert Berry.
