Death of a Respected Pioneer
Mr. M. McMillan, a highly respected and pioneer citizen of Asotin county, died early Wednesday morning at his home on Montgomery Ridge, after a sickness of several months. Funeral services were conducted at the Montgomery Ridge school house Thursday morning, by Rev. R. J. Barbee, of Asotin, and interment made in Anatone cemetery.
Mr. McMillan was born in Ohio seventy-two years ago last August. During his early life he moved to Minnesota, and about twenty-five years ago came west with his family to Washington, locating in Dayton, where he remained about a year, after which he moved to Asotin county. He has followed farming during all the time he has resided in this section and has made a success of it. He had, as a rul, enjoyed good health up to about the middle of last June, when he became afflicted with heart and stomach trouble, and although he seemed better for a time, he could not overcome the trouble, and it resulted in his death. Mr. McMillan who was highly respected by all who knew him, leaves a widow and six children--three sons and three daughters, all of whom have the sympthy of innumerable number of friends.
