Joseph Talbert Pack was the son of Joseph T. Pack and Mary E. Mount. His parents are in the 1900 US census record, living in Barnesville, Belmont, OH. At the age of 14 years, he is in the 1900 US census record in Richland, Belmont, OH. He is identified as a day laborer and apparently is in prison, although the reason is not clear. His parents were both dead by 1905.

According to the OH County Marriage Records, he married Nellie Maude Craft on 26 Sep 1906 in Guernsey County, OH. They had the following children: Alpheus Gerald Pack (1907-1993); Joseph Robert Pack (1911-1981); and Mary Elizabeth Pack (1818-2008).

Note: It is possible that his father's middle name also was Talbert, in which case he is "Jr." and his father is "Sr." No evidence has been found to determine this.
