Pearl Irene (Collins) Crawford died Tuesday Nov 1, 1988 at a local hospital. She was 89.

Born July 1, 1899, the St. Joseph, Missouri native was the wife of the late Rev. Ralph Crawford, a Methodist minister, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hayward.

The Crawfords served the Portola, Atlanta-Fairgrove-French Camp, Sutter, Tracy, Armona-Grangeville, Clovis, San Joaquin, McFarland, Lamont, and Clearlake Highlands churches.

She is survived by a daughter, Pauline Ramsey of Hayward, CA; a son, Ralph (Adona) of Hayward; a sister, Hazel (Collins) Gwinn of Morgan Hill; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents George & Lizzie (Leighty) Collins; son Bill Crawford; son Wayne and wife Verla (Still)Crawford; son-in-law Bill Ramsey; grandchildren Lavonne & Danny Crawford; and siblings Nita Cobb, Mary Belle Utter, and brother Louis Collins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday Nov. 4, 1988 at Chapel of the Valley, 20359 Lake Chabot Road, Castro Valley,. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Santa Cruz. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association. mln 6/7/2014
