Irene Shearman, 70, went to her reward after an 11-year battle with cancer Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, surrounded by family in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Dennis, 7600 FM 1189, Lipan. Interment: Buckner Cemetery, Buckner Road and Red Bank Road, Weatherford.
Irene Shearman was born Sept. 2, 1938, to Benny and Ruby Massey in San Angelo. As a wife, homemaker, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, Irene was a blessing to her family. She loved her church home, First Baptist of Dennis, and particularly enjoyed fellowship with the ladies of her Sunday school class.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Sam Shearman; her parents; two sisters; and one brother.
Survivors: children, Leonard Shearman and wife, Kathy of Azle, Cathy Shearman of Weatherford and Danny Shearman and wife, Lezlee, of Dennis; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews; and many friends.
