Husband of Nancy R. (McCulley) Clark (1844-1926). Married on May 31, 1863 in Clarke County, Iowa. Father of 2 girls and 2 boys: Sylvia, John, Viola and an infant Clark and adoptive father of Albert F. Clark. Son of John Clark and Elizabeth (Little) Clark. David died at age 63 of cancer.

David B. Clark died at his home one-half mile east of this city, Thursday afternoon, Dec. 24, 1903 after an illness of several weeks. The funeral services were held at the home of the family Sunday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. T. Fisher and the remains were interred in the Rawlings cemetery east of this city. Mr. Clark was born in Greene County, Ohio, November 25, 1840, and when a small boy removed with his parents to Indiana and in 1853 came to Iowa locating in Wayne County. In 1863 he was married at Osceola to Miss Nancy McMulley, from which union four children were born, only one of whom, John W. Clark of Lockhart, Texas, survives his father. Mr. and Mrs. Clark also raised an adopted son, Albert F. Clark, who is a resident of this city. About 1875, Mr. and Mrs. Clark located in this city, where they have since resided with the exception of a few seasons which they spent in California. The deceased leaves three sisters and four brothers as follows: Mrs. J. M. Edwards and Isabelle Carver of this city and Belle Rash of Wayne County; Z. T. Clark of Portland, Oregon, James Clark of Corydon; John Clark of Grand River and Asberry Clark of Ottumwa. Mr. Clark was a carpenter by trade and followed farming also to some extent. He had numerous friends in this vicinity and was familiarly known as "Uncle Dave." He was well liked by all his acquaintances and a shadow of sorrow is cast over the community by his demise. The surviving members of the family wish to return their sincere thanks through the columns of The Journal to the many kind friends who tendered their assistance during their hours of bereavement.

Dave was one of the old settlers in this city. The funeral took place at 12:30 Sunday, conducted by Rev. Fisher, and the remains laid to rest in the Rawlings cemetery.
