b. May 10, 1885 at Waupaca, Wis., married Charles Peterson on June 19, 1907 at Clarkston, Wash., he was born on May 6, 1871 at Spencer, Iowa, was the son of James Peterson of Moscow, Idaho. She spent 19 years of her early life in Pine City, Minn., made a visit to her brother in Clarkston, Wash. where she married, she lived in Moscow, Idaho, the home of her husband for 15 years, her husband was an attorney, he received the appointment of Law Librarian and Deputy Clerk of the Supreme Court at Lewiston, Idaho, where they lived until the death of her husband in 1941. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She died 22 Oct 1967 in her daughter Dorothy's home in Red Bluff, Calif. Her funeral and burial were in Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho.

Mrs. Emma Pecoy [Emeline Axtell], 82, a former resident of Lewiston and Moscow for many years, died at 11 p.m. Sunday at Red Bluff, Calif, of the infirmities of age.
Mrs. Pecoy, the former Mrs. Charles Peterson, was born May 20, 1885, at St. Paul, Minn., [Mukwa, Waupaca, Wisconsin, USA] where she attended schools and grew to womanhood.
She moved as a young woman to Moscow in 1906 and married Peterson there the same year. She moved with him to Lewiston about 1924. He died in 1941 and shortly afterward she moved to Seattle.
From then until the time of her death she lived alternately at Seattle and Red Bluff. She had lived at the latter city the last three or four years.
She married E.S. Pecoy at Red Bluff in 1956. He died in 1958.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Methodist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. L. V. [Gwendolyn] Stewart, Lewiston; Mrs. Garland [Aileen] Palmer, Port Orchard, Wash., Mrs. T. N. [Dorothy] McCartney, Red Bluff, and Mrs Ruth Mitchell, Snoqualmie, Wash.; a son Lloyd Peterson, Seattle, and 12 grandchildren.
The body is being brought to Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home.
