CUMBERLAND,MARYLAND -- William Vincent Allen, 87, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Allen was born June 12, 1909, in Elkins, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola (Bishop) Allen. Mr. Allen was a carpenter for the Local 1024. He was a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are two sons, Charles V. Allen and wife Joyce, Charlotte, N.C., and Howard T. Allen and wife Sandra, Cumberland; five daughters, Arvalene Walters, Oldtown, Opal Dolly, Flintstone, Josephine McDonald and husband Joe, Beltsville, Sandy Wentling and husband Lawrence, Corriganville, and Janet Magrogan and husband Ted, Beltsville; 20 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Fred F. Parker officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Allen, Gary Allen, Kenneth Walters, Donald Magrogan, Larry Wentling, Rick Day, and Timothy Day.
