Bruce was born December 20, 1929 to Dennis and LaVerna Bowthorpe.
He married Marilynn Brown in 1952. He served in the Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Brother Bruce was a life long resident of Holladay. He was the co-owner of Holladay Feed and the owner of Holladay Schwinn. He was a volunteer fireman with the Holladay Fire Department for over 40 years. Bruce was well known in Holladay and was loved by everybody and a friend to everyone. He was affectionately called the King Bull Sh**er and the Wallace Lane Nell.
He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family, hunting with his sons and son-in-law, riding four-wheelers, motorcycles, and taking his wife Marilynn on rides. He loved his grand and great-grandkids more than anything and loved to entertain them.
Bruce is survived by his wife Marilynn Brown Bowthorpe; children Mike (Paula) Bowthorpe, Connie (Larry) Bridge, Barry (Wendy) Bowthorpe and Bryce (JoRae) Bowthorpe; sister Belva (Dennis) Higgins; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Reed Bowthorpe.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009 in the Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 South Memory Lane (1990 East). Friends and Family are invited to call at a visitation to be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive.
