The Library of Congress photograph that Glen Pierce (40443554) has posted for Robert Klein is not of him. it is incorrectly attributed as being him but Klein though on paper was commander of the Third Indiana Cav was physically stationed in the West with other Indiana Cav companies. The Third Cav was split most of the War. A few other individuals in the photo are in the Third Indiana Company C which with other companies (A, B, D, E, a few others) were stationed in the East. It is believe that the individual who is misattributed as Robert Klein is actually Milton Cline. He often wore commanding officers uniforms. Cline was a spy, scout & guide but Klein was not. This group is of scouts & guides. I have researched this photograph. The LOC has changed the information attached to this photograph. My great-great grandfather, John M. Irby (misidentified as IRVING) is seated to the far left. Half of his hand was blown off.

FYI,
The caption states that the young boy in this photograph is Klein's son. However, Klein did not have any children. However, Milton Cline did have a son, Walter. Walter would have been about the same age as this boy in the photograph.
