Mrs. Killeen
April 11, 1913

On Wednesday there was laid away the remains of Mrs. Hannah Killeen, as warm-hearted a daughter of Erin as ever breathed. She was born in Ireland and came to Canada a good many years ago - so long ago that she had quite vivid recollections of Almonte when it was known as Shipman's Mills. She lived out in Huntley, about nine miles from town, and by thrift and energy had succeeded so that she might have enjoyed the cessation from work to which she was entitled, but she could not be happy unless she was busy. Her husband died a good many years ago, and she was married to a Mr. McAuliffe, but he lived only a short time. A family of three or four sons and one daughter are left.

Almonte Gazette
------------

Daughter of Randal Donovan and Margaret Flynn. Hannah died of Pneumonia.

Married to Michael Killeen - they had Margaret, John, Jeremia & Michael. Then widowed and married John McAuliffe in Ramsay Twp, Ontario on February 23, 1865 and had two children - Randel Joseph McAuliffe and Mary Catherine McAuliffe.

I have added this cemetery in Ottawa - it would have originally been listed as being Huntley Twp, Carleton County, Ontario - then changed to West Carleton Twp, Carleton County, Ontario. In 2001 this Twp was incorporated into the city of Ottowa.

Another name for Hannah in the 1871 Canada Census was Hanora.

Please notify me of mistakes - I am not familiar with Canadian townships, etc.

No legible memorial remains.
