Raymond Howard Chandler, 85, of Bridge City passed away Friday.

Ray was the son of Wiley Mortin and Maude Lee (Petty) Chandler. He served twenty one years as a teacher and director of West Orange-Cove Skills Center. He also served in the U.S. Merchant Marines.

He was survived by his wife of fifty nine years, Dorothy Chandler; daughter and son-in-law, Maudine and Stephen Kelley; sons, Kenneth Lee Chandler and Glen Hoyt Chandler; grandchildren, Crystal Wickersham, Lance Chandler and wife, Amy, Jake Chandler, Justin Chandler, and Donna Marie Mather; and great-grandchildren, twins, Caden and Kage Chandler, Taylor Mather, Ethan Mather, and Elijah Chandler.

Funeral services 11:30 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2009 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Reverend Forrest Wood of First Baptist Church of Orangefield, officiating.
A graveside service at 4:00 p.m., Monday, at Antioch Cemetery in Ratcliff.
