Nancy C. Aversa Falbo

Nancy C. Aversa Falbo, age 92, of Erie, died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at her residence. She was born December 23, 1915 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late Raffaele and Concetta Moraco Aversa.

Her family moved to Centerville area in 1925 where she started school in Riceville. She then moved to Erie and had worked at Marx Toys. She enjoyed baking, cooking and sharing stories with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Philip Falbo; a son, Philip A. Falbo; three brothers, Samuel, Joseph and Alec Aversa; two sisters, Philomena Castelveter and Mary Nozzarella; and a granddaughter, Michelle Russo Olson.

She is survived by one daughter, Gloria J. Russo, of Erie; a daughter-in-law, Judy Falbo of Erie; a sister-in-law, Arlene Aversa, Centerville, PA; grandchildren, Kim and Jim Achille, Philip and Sarah Falbo, Frank and Jeanette Russo and Jamie Russo. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and special friend, Roberta Eckendorf of Erie.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and are invited to attend services there on Tuesday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
