Theda Dorothy (Robinson) Mayer passed away June 28, 2009, in Wenatchee, surrounded by her family. She was born to Elsie Ruth (Timm) and Ernest A. Robinson, in Spokane, WA on December 22, 1920. In 1921, the family moved to Oroville, WA, where she grew up on the family farm, was active in Grange and graduated from Oroville High School. She was the 1938 Oroville May Day Queen. She enrolled at WSC, joined Sigma Kappa sorority and graduated from WSC in Home Economics, with a minor in art. While at WSC, she met Vernon John Mayer, whom she married on March 20, 1942. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband Vern; sister, Celecia Hargrave; and a son, Robin John Mayer. She is survived by a sister, Jackie Keithley (husband, Tom) of Rathdrum, ID; a daughter, Karen Miacolo of Newman Lake; and three sons, Kirk of East Wenatchee, Mark of Walla Walla and Jay of Puyallup. She has seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a host of relatives in Davenport and Harrington. Over the years, she was active in PTA, Cub Scouts as a den mother, Eastern Star, Rainbow, Grand Cross of Colors, League of Women Voters, Lady Lions, Elks, Seattle Hospital Children's Guild, WSU Home Economics group, a Cashmere Women's handicraft and Bridge group, etc. During her life, she worked on the farm; for the Palace Department Store in Monroe, LA (Vern was in the Army Air Corp); Oroville American Legion Housing Project; Cashmere's Frankie's Apparel; Oregon State Social Services; and Washington State Department of Social & Health Services, retiring in 1986. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing, making her own patterns, painting and was interested in finance, health and nutrition. Services have already been held.
