Clifton "Cliff" Eldridge Price, 71, of Orangeburg, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004 at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 4, at Four Holes Baptist Church in Orangeburg, with the Rev. David Walker, the Rev. Julian Long and the Rev. Chuck Everette officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Roy Zeigler, Ed Stevenson, Billy Copeland, Bill Whitley, Pat Garrick, Glen Halter, Charles Rhoad, and Fred Price Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Hinson, Joe Horton, Ross Horton and members of the Marcia Bennett Sunday School Class at Four Holes Baptist Church.
Mr. Price was born March 15, 1932, in Antioch (Lee County). He was the son of the late William Kirkland (Willie) Price and the late Rosa Trusdale Price. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Four Holes Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and was a member of the Marcia Bennett Sunday School Class. He taught at Baron Dekalb High School and Camden Military Academy before joining Dupont Company in Camden with 26 years of service where he was shift supervisor. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace Wimberly Garrick Price of Orangeburg; one son, Clifton E. Price Jr. of McBee; four daughters, Fran Perry of Kingsport, Tenn., Stephanie Pressler and Sandy Watts, both of Kershaw, and Tasha Peebles of Camden; two stepsons, Dr. Edsel Garrick of Columbia and Kevin H. Garrick of St. George; one stepdaughter, Shelia Freeman of Birmingham, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Marshall of Sumter, Willene Coward and Viva Ammons, both of Bethune; two brothers, Fred L. Price of Columbia and Milton Price of Bethune.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at the funeral home.
