A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Fuzzy passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge. He was 77 and a resident of Plaquemine. Fuzzy spent most of his working life as a self-employed contractor in Plaquemine. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Catherine Devillier Ferguson; three children, Michael Ferguson Sr., Bret Ferguson and wife Cherrie and Jana Ferguson; daughter-in-law, Mabel; three grandchildren, Chandra Ferguson Klack, Michael Ferguson Jr. and spouse Brandy, and Shirley Ferguson; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Joseph, Scott, McKayla, Seth, Claire and Ellis; two sisters, Catherine "Buttercup" Rushing and spouse Jimmy and Barbara Jean Osborne and spouse Pete; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. He was born on Oct. 26, 1931, and was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Cecil Ferguson Sr. and Nina Newsom Ferguson; and a sister, Laverne Ferguson Parnell. He was an active member of the Acacia Lodge 116. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses. Visitation at First Baptist Church, 24525 Ory St., Plaquemine, on Friday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Keith Horton.
