Marie Ann Christensen, daughter of Joe and Tillie Soff Moravec, was born September 11, 1904 at Cotesfield, Nebraska. She departed from this life on June 24, 1992 at St. Paul, Nebraska at the age of 87 years.

She received her education in rural school west of Cotesfield and attended a dress-making school in Cotesfield.

On February 20, 1924 she married Clarence L. Christensen at St. Paul. The couple first farmed in the Davis Creek area west of Cotesfield. In 1948 they moved to a farm north of St. Paul. She later moved into St. Paul.

She was employed at the Howard County Hospital for many years and also worked in adult day care and child care.

She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Methodist Church Women and the St. Paul Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her two daughters, Arlene Pedersen of St. Paul and Heloise (Mrs. Dean) Brelsey of Ord; a son, Harlan Christensen of St. Paul; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Hilda Tuma of Loup City and a brother, William Moravec of Ord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother; a brother, Emil; one granddaughter, Sheryl Naeve and two infant grandchildren and son-in-law, Dick Pedersen.
